Independent advisory position
TrueNorth Yacht Advisors AS is independent. We do not accept commissions or referral fees from brokers, sellers, surveyors, yards, or insurers. We provide evidence-based guidance to help buyers and owners make clearer decisions.

Not a survey, not an insurer, no guarantees

  • We are not an insurance company and we do not make underwriting decisions.

  • Our work is not a substitute for an in-person inspection by a qualified marine surveyor, rigger, mechanic, electrician, or other specialist.

  • We do not guarantee insurability, valuation outcomes, survey results, or acceptance by any underwriter.
    Our products and services are intended to improve documentation quality and reduce avoidable surprises, not to replace professional inspections or underwriting decisions.

Acceptable use
You agree not to:

  • Share, redistribute, resell, or publicly post our digital products

  • Use the site for unlawful purposes

  • Attempt to bypass download protections or access controls

Intellectual property
All content, including PDFs, templates, checklists, visuals, and text, is owned by TrueNorth Yacht Advisors AS or licensed to us.
Purchasing a product grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own decision-making. It does not transfer ownership.

Accuracy and model variation
Boats vary by production year, region, refit history, equipment, and maintenance quality. You are responsible for verifying facts and condition details that affect your purchase, safety decisions, compliance, and insurance.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (including lost opportunities, travel costs, yard costs, delays, or resale impact).

  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product or service that gave rise to the claim.
    Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

Changes
We may update products, the website, and these policies over time. The version in effect at the time of purchase applies to that purchase.

Governing law
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes shall be handled by the competent courts in Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.

DIGITAL PRODUCT POLICY (PDF DOWNLOADS)

Delivery
Digital products are delivered electronically, typically via instant download, email delivery, customer account access, or a combination of these (depending on site settings).
If you do not receive access, contact info@truenorthyachtadvisors.com and include your order confirmation details.

Refund policy for digital products
Because digital products are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, digital product sales are final once delivery or access has been provided.
We may issue a refund or replacement only in these limited cases:

  • Duplicate purchase: the same product was purchased twice in error

  • Technical failure: you cannot access the file and we cannot resolve delivery within a reasonable time

  • Wrong file delivered: an incorrect product was delivered due to an error on our side
    Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase and must include your order details. If approved, refunds are processed to the original payment method.

License and sharing
Digital products are for personal use only. You may not resell, share, upload, or distribute them.

Updates
If we update a digital product, access to updates may be provided at our discretion unless explicitly stated on the product page.

BUYER SUPPORT SERVICES POLICY

What the service is
Buyer support services are remote, evidence-based advisory services designed to help you:

  • Request the right photos, videos, and documents

  • Organize information in a survey-grade structure

  • Identify risk areas, missing evidence, and follow-up questions

  • Prepare for an on-site survey and reduce preventable surprises

What the service is not
Buyer support services are not:

  • A certified marine survey

  • A valuation, insurance approval, or underwriting service

  • A guarantee that a boat is safe, problem-free, or insurable

  • A substitute for specialist inspections (rigging, engines, electrical, composites, etc.)

Evidence requirements
Our ability to help depends on the quality and completeness of evidence you obtain from the seller or broker. If key evidence is missing, we will identify gaps and recommend what to request next.

Prerequisites
If the service description states that a model-specific survey-prep guide is required before a remote review, that guide must be purchased and used as the first step.

Turnaround time
Turnaround time depends on workload and the completeness of the evidence. Any stated timeframe on the service page forms part of the service expectations.

Third-party delays
If the seller or broker does not provide requested evidence, progress may stall. In that case, we will support you by listing missing items, prioritizing the next-best evidence, and providing clear follow-up questions.
Refunds are not provided for delays caused by third parties (seller, broker, yard, travel, weather, or scheduling changes outside our control). If we cannot begin work due to circumstances on our side, we will offer a reschedule or a refund.
